List of French bow makers (archetiers) in the golden era. The French bow making tradition has its roots in Mirecourt (Vosges). The fine bow makers of Paris were almost always just the makers of Mirecourt who setteled in Paris. The model of bow we use today was brought into its form by François TOURTE.
